Q1: The year 2023 was the best in the bank’s history. How did you carry that momentum into 2024?
A1: The year 2024 was exceptionally successful for ProCredit Bank, marked by strong growth across every core business segment. By November 2024, our total outstanding loan portfolio had increased by 17.1 %, while deposits grew by 15.1 % compared to year-end 2023. These figures clearly reflect the quality of our services, the trust our clients place in us, and our unwavering commitment to excellence.

Additionally, in 2024 Fitch Ratings reaffirmed ProCredit Bank Bosnia & Herzegovina’s B+ long-term rating with a stable outlook—a testament to our financial stability and reliability as a partner for individuals and businesses alike.

Q2: What were the key milestones for the bank during this year?
A2: Two initiatives stand out as highlights of 2024:

  1. ProCredit Connect Regional B2B Summit
We brought together over 500 participants from 12 countries across Eastern and Southeastern Europe. This flagship event featured more than 700 formal B2B meetings, enabling our clients to strengthen existing partnerships, forge new supply-chain relationships, and explore collaborative projects. The summit’s scale and impact underscore our role as a catalyst for regional economic integration.
  2. Launch of the “ProBaj” Concept
ProBaj is our innovative “try-before-you-commit” program that allows prospective clients a six-month free trial of ProCredit Bank’s full range of services— from account opening and digital banking features to other premium products. By removing entry-barriers and letting clients experience our services firsthand, ProBaj has further deepened customer confidence and helped them make informed, experience-driven decisions about banking with us.

Q: The retail segment is becoming increasingly important for ProCredit Bank. Can you tell us more about that?
A: In 2024, we further strengthened our presence in the retail segment by leaning on innovation and customer trust, enhancing our digital channels, launching a new mobile app, and unveiling a redesigned website. The ProBaj concept was instrumental—allowing clients to test our services free of charge—which solidified trust and translated into a surge of new users.

On the branch network side, we opened two new outlets in Sarajevo (in Otoka and on Branilaca Sarajeva Street downtown) and relocated our Bijeljina office to a larger, more technologically advanced facility. While we continue to invest heavily in digital capabilities, we also recognize the value of in-person contact, so expanding our physical footprint remains a priority.

We’re also very proud to have won the Zlatni BAM award for retail deposit growth—further proof of our customers’ confidence and our market stability.

Q: ProCredit Bank is a leader in green financing. What are your results in this segment?
A: Green financing continues to be one of our top priorities. To date, we’ve financed over 200 solar power projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, totaling 19.52 MWh of capacity. To support our clients in this transition, we’ve organized workshops on the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), helping businesses navigate the new energy-transition standards.

We issued our first green loan more than a decade ago, and since then we’ve built a deep internal expertise that we’re proud to share with our clients—guiding them through sustainable investments and best practices.

Q: Which initiatives will you focus on in the new business year?
A: Our top priority for 2025 will be listening to our clients and tailoring services to their real needs, all while continuing to grow and strengthen our market position.

  • Retail segment: We’ll introduce new products and services and refine existing channels and apps—always keeping simplicity and accessibility at the core of our design. Rapid change in today’s world only sharpens our focus on delivering solutions that truly meet customer expectations.
  • SMEs: We’ll keep evolving our financial offerings to help small and medium-sized enterprises respond to market demands and boost their competitiveness in what remains a challenging environment.
  • Team development: Through ProCredit Academy and fresh educational programs, we’ll further upskill our colleagues—ensuring the highest standards of service and reinforcing customer trust.

Guided by the principles of responsible banking, and supported by both client confidence and our committed team, we will continue contributing to the sustainable development of the local economy and community. We’re confident that 2025 will bring new opportunities for growth, advancement, and even stronger collaboration with our clients and partners.
